Taylor's Little Piece Of Heaven

Algenist Perfect Clarifying Pore Corrector Mask has found it’s way into my heart.  Not only does it perform but it exceeds my expectations.  I love to use this mask as a little treat, but I notoriously indulge because it simply brings me so much happiness. When you look in the mirror with this face mask on, I hope you see a beautifully crafted terra-cotta masterpiece as well.  Algenist Perfect Clarifying Pore Corrector Mask contains Alguronic Acid and sulfur so it’s important you figure out your skin type and what works for you before you lay down $55 for this product.  I promise you, it will do everything it says: minimize pores, reduce lines, and brighten skin while evening out the skin tone.  It’s a little piece of heaven in beautiful, minimalistic packaging.

I really enjoy the whole experience of using this face mask.  From opening the container and seeing this beautiful terra-cotta hue, to the scent and texture, I am treasuring every moment.  I’m greedy so I like to leave this mask on for 30-40 minutes which is way past the recommended 15 minutes.  In my opinion I think the longer you leave it on, the better it works.  But this is all preference because I have more oily skin in the summer, I want this to do it’s job and clean out my pores.  This clay mask texture is unlike anything I’ve used previously. Algenist uses jellified clay as their special formula.  The clay draws out the impurities in your skin, so get ready for that, but I promise you it’s worth it even if you end up with a small blemish. The gel makes sure to hydrate your skin so your left with a saturated feeling post wash. I love the balance of this formula, I get the feeling of a clay mask but the hydration of a gel/water based mask.  As soon as I remove the product I notice immediate results of smaller pores, baby soft skin and hydration so prominent it almost feels like a moisturizer.  I always usually apply it in my T-Zone because it absorbs the oil and dirt right out of my face. That’s why I’ve been obsessed with it this summer, some humid days my face can’t handle the overload of grease/perspiration and I need to reclaim my skin back FAST.

The terra-cotta hue of this face mask is birthed from the extracted red algae of Hawaii, which is meant to radiate the skin while minimizing the appearance of your pores.  This might be a good time to mention that this mask will leave your sink, and counter tops looking quite scary. But the Scream2 scene will be worth the extra effort.  Especially when you look at yourself in the  mirror afterwards in absolute awe because your skin is hydrated, refreshed and smelling of natural beauty.  This mask has such a wonderful, non describable smell that all I can say is it will make you feel nourished.  It’s natural, subtle and comforting.  The scent alone brings me to a place of serene relaxation, which lingers around long after a scrub.  The act of applying this mask to me, is a form of therapy as I lightly message away impurities.  The acai seeds act as a micro-exfoliant that polish the skin and assist in the process of minimizing of pores.  I love to continue to massage the exfoliants into my face while I'm rinsing it off. Luckily for the price tag ($55 for 2oz), a little goes a long way with this product.  And no matter how little you use, the calming effect of the cooling sensation will always be a constant.  The process of the mask drying and lightly tightening while simultaneously cooling my skin, is that of wonders.  I hate washing this face mask off but I do look at my bare skin in amazement after I dry off.

That Awkward Moment When You Wash Your Face and the Result of Your Skin is Oily Than Before

GENIUS Ultimate Anti-Aging Melting Cleanser

SIZE 5 oz/ 150 mL

I was so eager to try a makeup remover that “melts” off your makeup, that in retrospect I should have paid more attention to Algenist’s formula.  The advertised ingredients on Algenist’s Anti-Aging Melting Cleanser are Alguronic Acid and Microalgae Oil.    Respectively, the oil based compound of the formula didn’t sit well with me, Alguronic Acid is apart of the ‘Anti-Aging’ segment and that is not considered a physical attribute of the cleanser.  This is the first time I’ve tried an oil based cleanser and it will be definitely be my last.  I was curious to see what other users liked about this product and to me the running theme was simply; skin type. The formula is a thick oil which you apply to a dry face and then rub with wet hands to create the milky emulsion which is then rinsed. Personally, I felt really grossed out by the oily film that was left on my skin after completing the steps. One review suggested a hot cloth after the process to relieve the redness of dry, sensitive skin while minimizing pores.  I’m definitely going to give this cleanser another shot come the winter months. Right now my skin doesn’t need an excessive amount of moisture because of the summer season where it leans more on the oil scale.  This product may work for you and it may not, I think a lot has to do with preference as well as skin type. I have agreed to put the plastic smell to the side… people say it’s vanilla and sweet but I won’t get your hopes up.

It is worth mentioning that this cleanser does a poor job of removing eye and face make up. I’ve looked in the mirror a few times and saw the Joker.  As you can envision in your mind, my ‘stubborn’ makeup mostly just smudges and smears all over my face creating a dramatic look of “Walking Through a Hurricane After a Night Out”. It is not cute.  BUT, I will say that even after another wash with a different cleanser, my skin feels noticeably softer and hydrated. I’m going to give this product 2 stars only because it has the opportunity to redeem themselves to 3. Once the winter months come around I will try the hot towel remedy and if it turns out to be the missing link then I will give up no more than a star.  Admittedly, I don't have much faith in this cleanser and would rather spend my coins (Algenist’s 150ML bottle retails for $38 at Sephora)  on one that just works for me with no extra frills involved in the process.

Your best glow can be found in the skincare aisle! Algenist REVEAL Concentrated Luminizing Drops is a 5 Star Gem!

I, the self-proclaimed glow queen has come across yet another gorgeous highlighter, this time from high end skincare brand Algenist. Being that this product ISN'T laid out there with the other makeup products throughout all of Sephora, you would more than likely walk past this and not know that your best glow yet even exists!

You can see the shimmering glow dripping off of the dropper. its so gorgeously pearlescent.

I am a major fan of liquid highlighters and this one is no exception. This serum formula gives a gorgeous dewy effect and I love the way it sinks into the skin rather than lay on top, especially for the hot and humid summer months. This gorgeous highlighter was love at first drop. The iridescent sheen pulled on my heartstrings. I love how the beam can be built from subtle radiance to an intense glow yet still feel so incredibly lightweight and airy. It feels like nothing on the skin. You can apply with your fingers or a brush like Real Techniques' duo fibre contour brush (which is my go to for liquid highlighters) and then tap  a tiny bit with a beauty blender just to blend out any harsh lines and make it seamless. It seemed to last an entire work day which is major. This liquid highlight may give a dew effect but it doesn't set wet. It sets kind of like a semi matte, So this will work for all skin types even for all of you oily babes out there. Also, It works so well with my sensitive skin but I felt like that was a given coming from a great skincare brand. The highlighter is formulated to work well with mature skin as it has gold pigments and ultra fine luminous pearls that don't crease into fine lines and wrinkles as well as Alguronic Acid to reduce the appearance of them. You can mix this into your moisturizer for a brightening effect and even your foundation for a diffused soft focus effect to the skin. This highlighter contains an AlgaCorrecting Complex that aids in color correction and treats uneven skin tone. It is also formulates without synthetic dyes, parabens or sulfates and is dermatologist tested and hypoallergenic. ALL OF THIS SKINCARE MAGIC WHILE GIVING YOU A BOMB GLOW!!! YES PLEASE!!!

This is a swatch on my medium skin tone (with flash) & The beam is real!!! It will photograph beautifully. This is in the shade "Champagne".

The Algenist REVEAL Concentrated Luminzing Drops comes in 3 different shades, "Rosé", "Champagne" and "Pearl". This highlighter is more on the pricier side, retailing for $38 and you get 0.5oz of product. A single drop of this product goes a very long way. Although it may seem small, you're still getting alot of glow for your buck. You can find this Product at Sephora Stores and Sephora.com as well as Algenist.com.
