Tom Ford Smoky Eye Palette Review

Written by Christine Q

I recently went to a late evening wedding with a reception that lasted until 2 a.m. I love weddings because it's one of the few times we non-celebrities can dress up like one. When it comes to an event, a smokey eye is always appropriate no matter what time of day. If it's a daytime, I like to keep it more neutral and layer different shades of brown and gold. But at night, I like to lean on the traditional smokey eye and go for something with blacks, grays, and shimmer.

My personal favorite palette is Titanium Smoke from Tom Ford. By now, everyone knows how much of a fan I am of his cosmetic line and this palette is sheer perfection. The shadow is smooth and velvety without being powdery and the color payoff cannot be matched. Not to mention it blends and photographs beautifully. With the palette, you get the basic shadows you need to create a smokey eye, a black, gray, shimmer, and highlight. I personally like to use my index finger to pat on the eyeshadows and then blend the edges with a brush. If you can find it, I would also recommend the Sahara Haze palette by Tom Ford. It's been discontinued and is crazy hard to find. It leans more on the greenish side and you wouldn't think it would work well, but the depth in the colors works on any skin town and makes any eye color pop.
